WRUV DJ Gregory Francese helps convince UVM to ban bottled water

UVM this week announced that the sale of bottled water on campus will end Jan. 1, 2013, making the university one of the first institutions nationwide to pass this type of sustainable beverage policy.

And a key player in the debate was WRUV‘s own Gregory Francese, a student DJ who has taken to the airwaves to push his cause. He is also president of VSTEP: the Vermont Student Environmental Program.

The student-run Vermont Cynic broke the story, and local TV station WCAX interviewed Francese soon after.

Thanks for the info, Mike. It looks as though both papers had the story on the same day, actually: the Water Tower in print on Jan. 31 and the Cynic online the same day, with a print version two days later. Either way, great bit of coverage by both papers.
