Media student travels
From the Old North End area of Burlington to the never-entered newsroom of The New York Times to a whole bunch of other enviable places, this page brings you to the places UVM media students go. . . .
@ NYC AND THE NEW YORK TIMES.
During the Spring 2009 convention of College Media Advisers, editor-in-chief-apparent Will Sedlack networked his butt off and arranged a personal tour of the New York Times for the in-attendance staff of The Vermont Cynic, led by city columnist-extraordinaire Jim Dwyer. Such an amazing visit.
@ H.O. WHEELER ELEMENTARY IN THE OLD NORTH END OF BURLINGTON, VERMONT
Leadership of The Vermont Cynic—Dakota Rubin, Connor Boals, Jessica Bartlett and Joanna Benjamin—visited the fifth-grade class of teacher Sarah Wolfe-Gordon during her lesson about journalism. The Cynic leaders shared their experiences with putting together and publishing a weekly campus newspaper.
